Israel: UNESCO Spice Route
The Nabatean Spice Route (Incense Road) crosses the entire width of Israel from the Arava Desert on the border with Jordan through the Negev to Gaza. It is a UNESCO cultural heritage site. Much of it is accessible only by hiking, mountain bike or four wheel drive. Most of these photos were taken on different trips, but those from the exit Makhtesh Ramon through Nahal Nekarot to Khirbet Moah near the border with Jordan are from a one day guided jeep trip. Included also are a few views of the Nabatean capital city of Petra in Jordan.
